Linking Metacourse In Moodle 2.0

In this example, we'll take one course as Parent course named C11. A child course "metaC11E" and another child course  "metaC11M". Students are enrolled in the child courses.
  1. Turn Metacourses on by going to Site administration -> Plugins -> Enrolments -> Manage enrol plugins and enabled Course meta link.
  2. Created the following coures:
    1. Parent course named C11
    2. Child course METAC11E
    3. Another Child course META C11M
  3. Enroll users into METAC11E and METAC11M. Leave Parent enrollment empty or you can enrol stuent.
  4. Go to Parent course i.e C11. Click on parent course C11. Course Administration will be enabled. Then go to  Course administration -> Users -> Enrolment methods. On that screen, add method "Course Meta link" and choose child course C11M . Repeat steps for child course C11M. If you look at participants for the parent course, you will see the users from both the child courses.
  5. If you log-in as a student from child course METAC11E, you will see METAC11E and parent in your course listings. If you want only students to see the parent course, then go to:
    1. Site Administration -> Courses -> Add/edit courses. Choose the category for the METAC11E course. Find the course METAC11E. Click the eye icon to hide the course.
    2. OR search for the course from the home page logged in as site admin. Click the eye icon to hide the appropriate courses.
  6. Repeat above for child course METAC11M. If you log in as a student, you can't see/search for METAC11M. However, an admin can still see/search for these now hidden child courses. The will be grayed out to indicate that they are hidden.
